Downside Up
Downside Up
đ In this updated activity, students will explore patterns and formulate mathematical relationships through the Canstruction exhibit âDownside Up.â Begin with the starter slides for initial estimation attempts and discussions (Youâll find solutions to the starter in the speaker notes section in the slides), then identify the mathematical relationships in the arrangement of cans during the main activity.
đMiddle school students may find the activity a little challenging, particularly in deriving the formula, but with some guidance, we are sure theyâll tackle the challenge with enthusiasm!
â°Around an hour, including the starter and main activity, with timing varying based on class discussion.
