About
Welcome to YummyMath!
At YummyMath, we design math activities in real-life contexts: sports, food, holidays, movies, and more. We offer more than 400 of them, for grades 3-12. Each activity starts with something students recognize, like a sports record, a new movie, a holiday, or a story in the news, and turns it into a math problem worth talking about. Each activity comes with a printable worksheet, an answer key, and our membership lets you download editable versions to adapt for your class. We add new activities through the school year and refresh older favorites with up-to-date data. Teachers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and beyond use YummyMath in their classrooms.
How it started
Two incredible math teachers, Leslie Lewis and Brian Marks, started YummyMath in 2010. They wanted to bring real-world math into class, using the things students were already talking about. Over the years, they built a library of hundreds of activities that teachers still use today. We’re updating many of Leslie and Brian’s original activities with current data. When you see “In this updated activity,” the original idea and work came from Leslie and Brian.
